microMEDIA can read mainframe tapes (3480, 3490, 3490E) as well as 4mm., 8mm., DAT and Ultrium tapes, plus a wide range of other media. Digital data from microfilm and microfiche is scanned and converted to ASCII format or a database for processing on inexpensive PCs. Images and vector format files are converted to appropriate formats to meet client requirements. We use two approaches:

Print image tapes are converted indexed into a database for full-text retrieval. Data can be maintained on CDs, with a comprehensive index on the local or network magnetic disk media.

Applications presently maintained in a database structure that will be replaced by a new system can be re-formatted and converted by microMEDIA. We deliver data in specified formats that are ready for upload to the newly installed system.
