Fax to Email - Electronic Document Imaging Management

Fax to email (e-mail) services utilize electronic document imaging management, document conversion, scanning and indexing capabilities offered by microMEDIA to automatically generate email / electronic documents from paper-based fax documents.  While many companies offer fax to email service, they rarely provide the additional analytical support needed to process the information through a company's workflow.  Our document management focus is on moving paper into computers.  Fax to email service thus includes processing of the data and imaging contained within the electronic document, not just output of electronic images.

We receive fax documents in email form and then inspect them (automatically or manually) and apply predetermined processing rules to:

• Re-route the electronic document to one or more recipients.  Based upon information contained within the header, specific section, subject and/or keywords contained.  Of course, a facsimile could contain one page or several pages.  We can also analyze attachments.

• Convert all or portions of a facsimile into electronic imaging and transmit to specific recipients as attachments to the transmittal document. 

• Select and format information as input for computer processing systems.  Securely transmit to remote locations.  This option is used for ordering, sales reporting, client changes and any other information that has to be specially formatted for computer processing.  We convert the data into digital form, format it as required for the computer's input and then transmit it as e-mail attachments, FTP transfers or web uploads.

• Employ customized procedures for meet specific client application needs.

Facsimiles are analyzed through optical character recognition (OCR), intelligent character recognition (ICR), barcode recognition, forms processing or, if necessary, visual inspection by technicians.
