Our document management and scanning services have converted millions of documents not only from paper, but also including microfilm scanning services, microfiche conversions, aperture cards and bound materials. 

Applications

Engineering

We offer a wide range of engineering drawing and supporting document scanning and conversion services.  We can convert engineering documents to microfilm, electronic formats or aperture cards.  We also do microfilm and aperture card scanning  and conversion. Several of our microfilm document management and conversion projects have involved Bills of Material, Parts Lists and Parts Drawings.  We also convert drawings to CAD vector format files.

Archival

microMEDIA scans books, rare documents, folios, card catalogs, manuscripts, photographs and negatives of archival and legacy content client  repositories. We converted Boswell's Journals of Samuel Johnson for Yale's website and have NEWS about Columbia University,  IBM Digital Library and United Nations.

Contracts

Many clients have selected microMEDIA to convert their valuable Contract files.  Frequently there is only one paper copy of these documents available.  The repercussions of loss could be massive.  This type of work is usually performed onsite to assure integrity and avoid the possibility of loss in transit..  Projects have included Deeds and Mortgages, Customer Contracts, Vendor Contracts, Legal Files, Securities Derivatives, Employee Files and many others.

Disaster-Recovery Recovery / Business Continuity

Serious disruption of ongoing business can occur from unforeseen calamities and willful employee actions. Recovery depends upon many factors, but primarily upon redundant copies of key data and records.  For more than 25 years, microMEDIA has assisted customers by creating and maintaining duplicate sets of essential records.

Fortunately, several of our clients in the World Trade Center area were able to recover their records after the Disaster-Recovery by using previously prepared contingency plans.  Many clients  utilize our capabilities as an element of their business continuity program in addition to performing daily operations.  A few NEWS examples are National Financial Partners and Merrill Lynch and Prudential Financial.  Our hosted websites are fully redundant.

Regulatory Affairs

The Brokerage and Pharmaceutical Industries have always responded to the importance of governmental reporting by maintaining meticulous records.  We have supported this critical function for years, beginning with micrographics conversions.  For the past 10 years, with electronic document scanning and conversion services.  We anticipate that the focus on corporate responsibility will accelerate the need for the maintenance of vital records in easily accessible fashion. We do not sell hardware, software or consulting.  This philosophy allows us to work with any existing or planned imaging system.  As new document imaging software becomes available, we're able to select the "best-of-breed" for our own use.  We thus have no incentive to convince our clients to acquire a specific product.
